Singapore, 7 October 2025 – Living Free is proud to announce that our Founder and Clinical Director, Dr Reshie Joseph, will be a featured speaker at the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Conference (NCPC) Singapore 2025. The event takes place at the prestigious One Farrer Hotel on 7 October 2025 and draws leading mental health practitioners from across Asia.
Unlocking Trauma: A New Model for Resilience
At this year’s conference, themed “Breaking Stigmas, Transforming Growth”, Reshie will present “Unlocking Trauma: A New Model Using Diathesis‑Stress as the Key to Trauma Resilience and Recovery.” He will challenge the prevailing notion that trauma recovery relies on eliminating all triggers and stressors. Instead, he will introduce a six‑domain model of resilience, rooted in the diathesis‑stress framework, that prioritizes strengthening our brain, body, and nervous system to adapt and recover.
“True resilience comes from our capacity to regulate and grow through challenges–not from the illusion of a trigger‑free life,” said Reshie.
This model integrates insights from behavioural, cognitive, and somatic psychology, and neuroscience (including autonomic nervous system and HPA axis regulation). It has been recently tested at Highlands Recovery in Australia, demonstrating promising results in helping clients overcome maladaptive patterns and achieve sustainable recovery.
